Terms of Service

Effective 2026-01-15

By using Chokidar you agree to these terms. They cover what we provide, what we expect of you, payment, liability, and termination. This is not legal advice; consult counsel for your specific situation.

1. The service

Chokidar is a hosted infrastructure monitoring platform. We provide the software, infrastructure, and support described on chokidar.bd. Features and limits depend on your plan.

2. Your account

You are responsible for everything done under your account. Keep credentials secure, do not share single-user accounts, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use Chokidar to probe or scan systems you are not authorized to monitor, to violate any law, to send spam, or to deliberately disrupt the service or any third party. We may suspend accounts that do so.

4. Your data

You retain ownership of all telemetry, configuration, and content you submit. You grant us the limited license needed to operate the service. We process personal data per our privacy policy.

5. Fees and payment

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Usage-based charges (e.g. log ingest GB beyond your plan) are billed in arrears. Late accounts may be downgraded to Free after 14 days. Stripe handles all card processing; we do not store card numbers.

6. Termination

You can cancel any time from the in-app billing portal; access continues through the paid period. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we are required to terminate by law. We will provide reasonable notice except for security or legal emergencies.

7. Warranties and disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". We disclaim implied warranties to the maximum extent allowed by law. If we offer a separate uptime commitment for a paid plan, it will be stated in that plan's specific service terms.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to amounts paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; if changes are material we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email and in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, excluding conflict of law rules. Disputes resolved in the state and federal courts of Delaware.
